Sophie Bergeron, PhD

Dr. Bergeron (she/her) is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Université de Montréal. She holds the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Intimate Relationships and Sexual Well-Being. She directs the Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Intimate Relationship Problems and Sexual Abuse (CRIPCAS), the SCOUP Team – Sexuality and Couples, and the Sexual Health Study Laboratory. Her work focuses on the psychosocial determinants of the sexual health of individuals and couples as well as the treatment of sexual dysfunctions. The results of her research have led to the development of evidence-based group and couple interventions. Her studies are funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). She is a Past President of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research.
